Default Ignore-list should get longer (seriously)

i know some have just clicked on the topic to say /notsign and troll but this limit is seriously getting on my nerves
why?
well let me demonstrate with an example:

so if i want to add this guy to ignore i gotta remove another asshole from my ignore-list and i'm not really willing to hear anything of those that are already on that list ever again
i'm actually going soft on people now cuz otherwise i'd have a list of over 50 bastards

so in short notes: need longer ignore-list

just remove some people, the chances of you ever seeing these people again are very slim to none.

Not that long ago, someone joined my guild/alliance and realized all the people on his ignore list were in our guild/alliance.

I would love to have a longer ignore list.

You act like every single person on your ignore list is out to get you.

The list could be longer, yeah, but you don't need to be so paranoid about removing ignore list names that you don't recognize.

I play almost exclusively on the US servers and have never been PM spammed. Maybe US servers have so many people I get lost in the crowd.

What they should do is have a non-fail report system where you can report specific messages. So that district changing spambots are easier to catch.

Has been suggested about 3 weeks ago here. This topic got closed, because there's another topic about that here.

You don't have to keep every single person on your ignore list forever. You can remove them after a day or two, at which point you'll never ever hear from them again.

Woah, that must be a Euro thing, I've never been mass spammed like that in the American dis. The most I get is a random person asking if I would like to buy a random item they are selling, a quick 'nty' sends them on their way though.

But remove one iggy so that you can iggy that guy for a few days? Not like that spammer's account is gonna be around for much longer.

Never been spammed by a bot or website person. Only ever put about 10 people total on ignore, and they never stayed on ignore longer than 1 week except for 1 who was 'stalking' me. Not sure there is a problem with the length of the ignore list, but don't see a problem with making it longer. Unless there is a reason Anet hasn't increased it, I wouldn't care if it got lengthened, but I don't think it is needed one bit.

I agree. The friends list should be longer as well, I've played since the beta and have a full friends list AND a full ignore list.

Longer ignore lists eat up more server side resources.

Ignore lists need to be client side. The same way that local, trade, etc filters are client side.

And it never occurred to you that you might be the problem?

While I am all for a longer ignore list-- these problem can be solved by simply not getting involved in drama. I generally leave people on my ignore list for about a good 3-4 months before taking them off (I literally have 3 people on it right now who have been on there for the last 2 1/2 - 3 years) before I remove them. If they cause you more issues just simple re add them.

Of course... The above method DOES require you to avoid drama as I stated prior.
